My life has been changing a lot lately
I kinda had one of those moments where you realize that you are letting life pass you by and your just watching opportunities pass by.
I am going to be leaving Lighting Design in two weeks and I am going to miss it a lot.
I really wish that I didn't need to quit but I really need work experience as a CNA to make it into college.
This summer has been awesome.
I recently took a trip down to california and tried out surfing.
I was explaining to trent one day that I've wanted to try it my entire life and he pointed to my car and said "well theres your car."
Thanks trent!
Its funny how sometimes solutions are easy but getting yourself to take the step is hard.
So my friend Jon and I loaded up our stuff and headed out on a Thursday and made it to the beach on Friday.
We spent 7 hours surfing on Saturday. I got up on my 4th try :)
Then Sunday we jumped back in the car and came home.
Tonight I went cliff jumping and it made me crave Lake Powell.
I miss those days.Getting old seems to have some disadvantages. I have been fighting some huge disappointments.
I don't understand the mentality that part of "growing up" means you abandon everything that you care about to pursue "dreams" (if you want to call them that)
Why did Adam fall again?
I hope that I can continue to love life and live it with the ambition I've developed over the past while. For my own sake.
I've had this song in my head from primary "if the Savior stood beside me"
Im not sure if that is its actual name.
I just don't think that if the Savior stood beside me he'd want me to sit at home and do nothing.
I guess that also fits in with "stand up and do something more" that is also sung in primary.
Maybe its not what the authors intended but thats how I am translating them.
I hope this isn't translated in a way that would make it seem as if I had an inflated sense of self worth...
Its just an update of my life and how I am living it.

Good for you. Way to take a risk! I think you will be a great CNA and you may find you don't miss Lighting Design one bit. That's the thing with trying new things and taking risks. Lots of times they are fun! If you ever want to risk coming out to see me, we'd love to take you to the ocean!
Way to be a surfer! Spencer sure is jealous of your jaunt to his favorite beach area! Fourth time is awesome. It's a great time to be trying out what you've always wanted to do. We sure love you and miss you. I think the Savior wants you to be happy, and live life to it's fullest. That sounds like what you're doing. Just don't grow up too fast, and keep enjoying the ride. I hope you'll love CNAing.
Ditto to your sisters comments. I love how much you are reflecting, planning, daring, trying, and going for the dreams you have. Now it the best time in your life to set your compass for big things.
You got up surfing on your 4th try? WOWZerzZ! Look out Kelly Slater! hang loose, brah.
Way to go Daniel. That is so awesome that you went to California and went surfing. Way to seize the moment and go for it! It is so important to do things like that in life.
I think you're awesome. That's a fun time in life to go skiing, surfing and cliff jumping. No regrets. And being an RN will have it's rewards, maybe even more than LD.... Go for it!
